This policy covers the cost of replacing or repairing gadgets as a result of Loss, Theft, Accidental Damage, Breakdown, Liquid Damage and Fraudulent Usage. This is not a replacement as new policy. Your gadget will be repaired, if possible, and replaced with a like for like refurbished model.

It is important you check that this policy meets your needs and you make sure the information you have given us is correct. You must tell us if this information is wrong, or if it changes. You have responsibility to take reasonable care not to make a misrepresentation. Should you be careless in answering the questions required to obtain a quotation and subsequently take out cover, or deliberately make a misrepresentation then it may be that this affects our decision to pay a claim.

For cover to be in place you must pay the agreed premium and if you make a claim any excess as shown on your schedule.

You can pay your premium as a one off payment annually or in monthly instalments.

Payment can be made by direct debit or debit/credit card.

If you make a claim and are paying your premium monthly you will be required to pay the balance of your premium before any claim can be processed.

You must send us proof of purchase, ownership and condition of the gadget within 7 days of your cover starting.

Your gadget must be in full working order and not already damaged at the Start Date of this Policy.

You cannot make a claim within 14 days of the Start Date of this Policy.

Your gadget must be no more than 12 months old at the Start Date of this Policy and You must have proof of purchase.

Your gadget must be purchased as new in the UK directly from a manufacturer, network provider or retail store (high street or online) OR purchased as refurbished in the UK direct from the manufacturer or network provider.

Your gadget must not have been purchased from an online auction.

You must be a permanent UK resident and over 18 years of age.

Any claim where you have not provided us with photographic evidence that your Gadget is in a good and operational state will be declined.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I claim within the first 14 days?

No. You cannot claim within 14 days of the start date of your policy.

Can I cancel my policy?

Yes. You can cancel without charge within 14 days of the start date of your policy without charge. Charges may apply if you cancel after 14 days. Please see the policy wording for full details of all charges.

Are cosmetic damages covered?

Damage is only covered if the device is unusable or doesn’t work as it did when it left the factory. For example, if the buttons don’t work, an area on the screen isn’t recognising your touch and obviously if the screen is cracked etc caused by an Oops moment then you’re covered. If our expert engineers are unable to repair, it then we will send you a replacement. Please see terms and conditions.

Is there an excess fee?

Yes – Like most insurance policies we charge an excess that is payable once you make a claim. See the policy wording for full terms and conditions.

Am I covered if I bought my device from an online auction site?

We only cover gadgets that are purchased from new or refurbished from the manufacturer or your network provider. This allows us to keep our prices nice and low for you.

Is there an age limit on the gadgets that I to want insure?

Yes – Unless you are renewing your policy the gadget must be less than a year old from when it was purchased as new.

Am I covered for incidents occurring before my policy start date?

No – Insurance policies only provide cover for incidents that occur after you have purchased a policy.

Will I be charged interest to pay monthly?

No – Oops does not charge interest if you want to pay monthly.

How long will my claim take?

This depends on whether the claim is for breakdown, damage or loss and theft. We aim to have you back up and running as soon as possible.

What happens when you replace my device?

If we decide to replace your device instead of repairing it, the replacement may be an identical item of the same age and condition or we will replace it with one of comparable specification or the equivalent value taking into consideration the age and condition of the original item. Where we send you a replacement or repaired item, this will only be sent to a UK address.

Will you pay for repairs I if arrange repair myself?

No – We will only pay for repairs that are undertaken by our approved repairers. We also need to assess the device  in order decide whether we are responsible for repairing or replacing it.

Do the repairs or replacements come with a warranty?

Yes –  Replacements devices will come with the balance of any manufacturer’s warranty and all repairs will come with a warranty.

What happens when you replace my device?

Need to claim?

Logging a claim is quick and easy.

You can log a claim in your customer portal 24 hours per day 365 days of the year.

Alternatively, you can telephone the insurer PEX Insure on 0203 745 2812.

Claims can also be emailed to the insurer to claims@pexinsure.com.

If you are paying your premium monthly you will be required to pay any outstanding balance before your claim can be processed.

Please note we do not make any decisions about the acceptance or otherwise of any claim. This is dealt with by your insurer. All claims are processed and handled by PEX Insure.
